Description
Exceptionally Toned, Deeply Reflective
1882 Quarter, Superb Gem Proof
1882 25C PR67 NGC. As with all quarters and half dollars
from the 1880s, the 1882 is a low total-mintage issue, with only
1,100 proofs struck plus 15,200 business strikes. This deeply
reflective proof striking displays a mirrored finish that is
abundantly evident, even through the toning. The obverse shows a
central band of rose framed at top and bottom with cobalt-blue,
while the reverse offers a near-brilliant center with same colors,
but ringed around the margin. A lovely example of this scarce proof
quarter. Census: 14 in 67, 0 finer (2/11).(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23XE, PCGS# 5583, GSID# 5357)
