    Description

Magnificently Toned 1882 Quarter, Proof 67 PCGS

1882 25C PR67 PCGS. Only 16,300 Quarters were struck in 1882, of which 1,100 were proofs, and this is one of the finest examples we have seen in some time. The fields show unfathomable depth of reflectivity on each side that is abundantly evident irrespective of the depth of toning present. On the obverse, the color is a rich crimson-red, deepening to magenta, then subtle green at the border. The reverse is quite different from the obverse with bright turquoise-blue toning changing to lime-golden at the peripheral area. A splendid, high-end Seated Quarter with great eye appeal. Population: 9 in 67, none finer at either service (3/04).
    From the JFS Collection.(#5583) (Registry values: P1) (NGC ID# 23XE, PCGS# 5583)
