Lovely Toning and Eye Appeal
Finest Certified at PCGS
1883 25C PR68 PCGS. Contrast may be slight but because of
the depth of mirroring in the fields there is undoubtedly some
present. The eye appeal is what is most pronounced on this piece,
undoubtedly from impeccable preservation over the past 137 years.
This Superb Gem proof quarter is richly toned with rose, violet,
blue, green, and gold tones over flashy fields and pristine
surfaces. The 1883 had a production run of 1,039 proofs. In the
past, nice proofs have taken the place of their more challenging
circulation-strike counterparts in collectors' sets, but this piece
is destined for a finest-known proof type set. Population: 1 in 68,
