Beautiful 1885 Quarter, PR66 Cameo
1885 25C PR66 Cameo NGC. This Premium Gem proof hails from near the end of the era of low-mintage business strikes, a situation precipitated by the mandates of the Bland-Allison Act providing for the coinage of millions of silver dollars. The 1885 quarter was made to the extent of only 930 proofs plus 13,600 circulation strikes. Good contrast is set up by frosty devices contrasting against reflective fields, with glimpses of pastel pink and blue more prominent on the obverse.
