Description
Uncanny 1885 Seated Quarter PR68 Deep Cameo
1885 25C PR68 Deep Cameo NGC. Ex: P. Kaufman. A sensational proof Seated Quarter that is destined for registry glory. The sparkling, untoned surfaces have the look of a newly minted coin, being temptingly close to "as struck" preservation. As one might conclude from the deep cameo designation, contrast between the fields and the devices is profound. As a date, the 1885 is popular for its low total mintage, but all of that becomes secondary when a specimen of this remarkable quality crosses the auction block. Population: 1 in 68 Deep Cameo, 0 finer (1/05).(#95586) (Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23XH, PCGS# 95586, GSID# 5368)
