Description

    1886 Quarter, PR67 Cameo
    Brilliant Throughout

1886 25C PR67 Cameo PCGS. The 1886 is one of the scarcest of the low mintage series of quarters from the 1880s. Only 5,000 business strikes were produced, along with 886 proofs. The scarcity of business strikes has placed considerable date pressure on the few remaining high grade proofs. This is an exceptionally pleasing, sharply contrasted cameo proof that is brilliant throughout. The fields are deeply reflective and the devices chalky-white. A beautiful cameo proof Seated quarter. Population: 6 in 67 Cameo, 0 finer, 1 in 68 Deep Cameo (3/13).
Ex: Pittsburgh Signature (Heritage, 8/2004), lot 5959, which realized $5,750.
