    1887 Quarter, PR66 Cameo
    Brilliant With Pleasing Contrast

1887 25C PR66 Cameo NGC. Briggs 2-B. The scintillating, mirrored fields appear exactly as struck, with a complete absence of toning. The first-glance eye appeal is enormous -- especially for those collectors who favor brilliant coins. The central devices are not heavily frosted, but sufficiently to merit the Cameo appellation. A few of the obverse stars lack central definition; were it not for this minor drawback, this coin might rise to the top of both services' population data. Census: 7 in 66 Cameo (1 in 66+ Cameo), 6 finer (12/14).
