Description

1891 25C PR 63 NGC. Russet iridescence over the right obverse interrupts the otherwise milky-gray faces. Despite this toning scheme, the mirrored fields are readily visible at most angles of observation. The razor sharp strike does full justice to the design, but scattered hairlines confirm the validity of the PR 63 assessment. Nevertheless, this final-year proof specimen should be of obvious importance to type collectors.
