Description

1893 Dollar PR 64 NGC. Even though each side is toned with virtually the same color and intensity of hue, the effect is quite different from obverse to reverse. The obverse has light, hazy gray and golden-yellow patina that is scattered over that side in a speckled pattern from the imprint of a cloth the coin was obviously wrapped in for some time. The reverse, however, is more traditional with rich golden-brown and cobalt-blue peripheral toning and incredibly deep, mirrored fields. Softly struck over the ear of Liberty, as often seen on this and other dates from the early 1890s.

Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 7440)
