1879 Eight-Piece Proof Set

1879 Proof Set. An impressive eight-piece group from Indian cent through both dollar types for the year. Individually, they include:
Indian Cent PR 66 Red PCGS. Pristine reddish-orange surfaces that are carbon-free and virtually as struck.
Three-Cent Nickel PR 64 PCGS. Untoned and appearing of gem quality, perhaps downgraded by minor planchet irregularities on Liberty's cheek.
Shield Nickel PR 64 PCGS. The overdate feature is not uncommon to proofs of this issue. A few minor carbon flecks, but otherwise vibrant and hairline-free.
Seated Liberty Dime PR 62 PCGS. Watery surfaces that are untoned and moderately hairlined through the center of the obverse, with blue and violet toning elsewhere.
Seated Liberty Quarter PR 63 PCGS. Modest cameo contrast, framed on either side in golden-violet and blue toning. Quality that most would call choice.
Seated Liberty Half-Dollar PR 63 PCGS. A sparkling two-toned example with nearly identical flashiness and coloration to the quarter.
Trade Dollar PR 63 PCGS. A wonderfully cameoed example with bits of delicate golden color about the margins. The graders were certainly wearing their conservative hats on this lovely proof-only specimen.
Morgan Dollar PR 62 PCGS. Slight two-toned appearance, with wispy hairlines and a hint of cloudiness on the reverse.
