1886 Seven-Piece Proof Set
1886 Proof Set. Save for the Indian cent, this is easily the nicest set thus far. It is comprised of:Indian Cent PR 60 Brown Uncertified. Mottled coppery-gold overtones of questionable origin.
Three-Cent Nickel PR 65 PCGS. Delicate golden accents and what appears to be a tiny, mint-caused facial discoloration.
Liberty Nickel PR 65 PCGS. Blushes of natural golden-rose patina over hairline and carbon-free surfaces.
Seated Liberty Dime PR 66 PCGS. A dazzling-white and superb cameo, indicative of things to follow.
Seated Liberty Quarter PR 65 PCGS. Fully brilliant with field-to-device contrast that is even more pronounced, but a few hardly noticeable hairlines keep it at the 65 level.
Seated Liberty Half-Dollar PR 64 PCGS. Another untoned cameo, this held back from gem status by a few insignificant blemishes on Liberty's knee.
Morgan Dollar PR 64 PCGS. A perfect match to other silver pieces, being brilliant with excellent contrast. Just a single hairline to the left of the portrait spoils a possible gem rating.
