1888 Seven-Piece Proof Set
1888 Proof Set. There are both extremely nice and not-so-nice pieces represented in this 10th consecutive set, but fortunately the majority fall into the extremely nice category. Included are:Indian Cent PR 63 Red PCGS. Subtle rose-violet freckling on the highpoints.
Three-Cent Nickel PR 65 PCGS. The obverse of this golden-hued gem is a splendid cameo.
Liberty Nickel PR 65 PCGS. Intricately detailed with blushes of apricot-gold over both sides and a semicircle of bluish-green pastel color on the obverse.
Seated Liberty Dime PR 65 PCGS. Nicely cameoed with a slight edging of golden color.
Seated Liberty Quarter PR 58 Harshly Polished, Uncertified. Untoned and easily the low point of the set.
Seated Liberty Half Dollar PR 64 PCGS. Golden-lilac toning over near-gem surfaces, with peripheral flashes of blue on each side.
Morgan Dollar PR 62 PCGS. Virtually untoned with a pleasing, mildly cameoed appearance. Despite a hairline and minor blemish here and there, this is a coin that possesses the eye appeal of a higher grade.
