1889 Seven-Piece Proof Set
1889 Proof Set. Despite a few hairlines on the silver issues, a most desirable group of proofs from a year that is perhaps most remembered for a rush on Oklahoma land. So much for our promise to the Native Americans, which segues us to the first coin:Indian Cent PR 65 Red and Brown PCGS. Uniform golden-violet color that is just a little mellowed from full red.
Three-Cent Nickel PR 65 PCGS. Golden patina over both sides. Thin die crack from the obverse edge, through the left side of the O in OF, and into the portrait.
Liberty Nickel PR 64 PCGS. Milky patina over hairline-free surfaces, hindered only by a few flecks of carbon.
Liberty Seated Dime PR 62 PCGS. Brilliant centers on the obverse, elsewhere toned in rich blue and coppery-gold hues.
Seated Liberty Quarter PR 62 PCGS. Colorfully toned about the edges.
Seated Liberty Half-Dollar PR 62 PCGS. Watery fields with a small cluster of hairline marks to the left of Liberty's arm, otherwise nearly choice with thin rings of peripheral toning.
Morgan Dollar PR 62 PCGS. Fully reflective with cloudy patina over much of the reverse.
