    1892 Six-Piece Proof Set

1892 Proof Set. A year of transition in United States coinage, ending 55 years of the Seated Liberty design and marking the beginning of the Barber dime, quarter, and half-dollar. The highlights of this less-than-consistent set, however, are the nickel and dollar. The following are represented:
Indian Cent PR 62 Red and Brown PCGS. Evenly mellowed, mirror surfaces that are downgraded by obvious hairlines.
Liberty Nickel PR 66 PCGS. A simply glorious specimen overlaid in blushes of ice-blue and lime-green patina, with underlying contrast that is just outstanding for a nickel product.
Barber Dime PR 61 PCGS. Modestly cameoed with a swath of violet toning in the upper left portion of the obverse.
Barber Quarter PR 62 PCGS. Stunning field-to-device contrast gives this piece the eye appeal of a gem, but wispy obverse hairlines limit the grade.
Barber Half-Dollar PR 58 PCGS. An impaired proof, perhaps being subjected to a brief stint in circulation and suffering from numerous hairlines and a mark on the eagle's shield.
Morgan Dollar PR 64 PCGS. Glittering two-toned surfaces that are accented in coppery-gold, rose, and blue iridescence.
