    Description

1904 Proof Set. An important year with the outbreak of the Russo-Japanese War. President Roosevelt used the opportunity to bring together the warring parties at Portsmouth the following year and negotiate a peace treaty (and also not coincidentally to impress on the diplomats from each country the naval might of the United States). He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts. This was also the final year for the Morgan dollar proof. This set displays some interesting color schemes, but is not quite the quality of the previous two sets. Included are:
Indian Cent PR 64 Red PCGS. Bright orange-gold with an attractive cameo.
Liberty Nickel PR 64 PCGS. Essentially brilliant.
Barber Dime PR 65 PCGS. Deep original toning in russet and magenta.
Barber Quarter PR 65 PCGS. Silvery centers are accented by multicolored toning.
Barber Half Dollar PR 63 PCGS. Oddly patterned multihued toning in russet, blue, magenta, orange-gold, and aquamarine.
Morgan Dollar PR 64 PCGS. Violet-gray toning with multicolored accents over surfaces that are superior for the grade.
