Description
High Quality 1879 Partial Proof Set
1879 Partial Proof Set NGC Certified. Missing the cent, three cent nickel, and five cent nickel. Included are:Dime PR 65. Well mirrored, the gray surfaces show sea-green peripheries. A couple of milling marks in the right obverse field account for the grade.
Quarter PR 66. Light in the centers, almost brilliant on the obverse, with pleasing golden and gray colors that deepen to cerulean-blue at the margins.
Half Dollar PR 67. A superb, glittering proof that appears to the unaided eye to be technically perfect. But even more important is the exceptional eye appeal rendered to the coin by the lovely, streaky golden-rose and cobalt-blue toning seen on each side.
Morgan Dollar PR 65. A solid gem example and one of the cornerstones of this set. Like the other four pieces, this one is similarly toned in shades of darker blue and gray on the obverse, with a lighter, brighter reverse. A bit softly struck over the ear of Liberty.
Trade Dollar PR 66. An astounding, flawless proof that sports rich turquoise patina over all the obverse with the same color around the periphery on the reverse and a scarlet colored center. Just extraordinary quality and eye appeal.
