A lovely 1940 proof set, all certified by PCGS as follows: cent PR 65 Red PCGS, splashes of orange patina on each side; nickel PR 65, attractive pastel toning; dime PR 65, patchy haziness on the reverse; quarter PR 66, crescents of golden-brown patina along the right sides; and half dollar PR 65, sparkling mirrors with only a single hairline in the right obverse field.
