Description

1892 Proof Set NGC. An attractive five-piece set that actually improves in grade as the denominations increase. Included are:
1892 Cent PR 64 Red and Brown. Mostly cherry-red with a faint trace of iridescence in the obverse fields. A couple of barely discernable contact marks prevent a gem grade.
1892 Nickel PR 65. Deeply mirrored with a layer of milky iridescence over each side.
1892 Dime PR 66. The obverse of this well preserved first-year issue shows ample contrast beneath mottled golden-orange toning, while a deeper gray-violet and blue-green toning blankets the reverse.
1892 Quarter PR 65. Appreciable cameo contrast is visible through the centers, at least partially framed on each side in milky golden-violet and sea-green toning.
1892 Half PR 66. Stark field-to-device contrast is very much in evidence across the top half of the obverse, while the balance of the coin is cloaked in gray-violet and deep blue iridescent toning.
To be sold only as a set.
