    Description

1901 10C Dime PR 67 NGC. While this pristine example shares the PR 67 grade level with 16 other pieces, it is bettered by only 2 PR 68 NGC examples (9/99). Evenly toned in brown-gray patina over the reverse, the obverse carries mottled hues of lilac and russet-gray. Deeply reflective and richly defined below, this example belongs in a collection that highlights originality alongside technical perfection.

1901 Quarter PR 67 NGC. The smoky-lilac patina that overlays the obverse deepens substantially to charcoal-blue hues throughout the reverse. Even though the underlying proof qualities are obscured at all but select light angles, this is a small price to pay for undeniable originality. The placid faces are quite comfortable with the superb gem grade designation.
Ex: 1999 ANA Sale (HNAI, 8/99), lots 6397 and 6398, respectively.
