Attractive 1866 Shield Nickel PR64
1866 5C Rays PR64 PCGS. Unquestionably a proof, as the reverse shows a prominent center dot and recutting along the upper left edge of 5. The obverse also displays a slightly less noticeable center dot. This near-Gem is well struck, with a light coating of greenish-gray toning over both sides, and blemish-free surfaces. As usual for the type, the fields are only mildly reflective. (Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 276G, PCGS# 3817, GSID# 2889)
