Gem Proof 1866 Rays Nickel
1866 5C Rays PR65 PCGS. The fields are nicely reflective but somewhat subdued by the light, hazy overlay of pinkish-gray toning that covers each side. The devices show a moderate amount of mint frost also, which gives the coin a mild cameo contrast. An attractive, defect-free Gem and one of the finer representatives of this two-year type we have seen recently. Population: 101 in 65, 54 finer (9/02).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 276G, PCGS# 3817, GSID# 2889)
