Description

1866 Rays PR 65 PCGS. First year of issue, both rare and desirable because of the brevity of the Rays type as well as a low official mintage. This is a fully struck example of a design known to have striking problems, with nicely mirrored fields glowing under the lightest hint of silvery toning. Both centering dots are fully struck. Some minor planchet flaking on the upper reverse.
