Bright, Problem-Free Striking
1868 5C PR66 Cameo PCGS. CAC. In spite of a mintage of only
600 proofs, at least two die pairings were used. The planchet
quality of this proof is remarkably bright and problem-free,
compared to earlier years and even compared to the business strikes
from this year. Strong mint luster is seen over the devices and
sets up the cameo effect against the illimitable depth of
reflectivity in the fields. Population: 13 in 66 Cameo, 0 finer
