Description
1869 Shield Nickel, Sharp PR64
1869 5C PR64 NGC. CAC. Creamy luster and good contrast appear on each side of this attractive near-Gem proof 1869 Shield nickel. The silver-white surfaces are untoned throughout and show a nice, uniformly sharp proof strike throughout, including all star centers on the reverse. A few tiny contact ticks account for the grade but are undistracting.Ex: Pennsylvania Cabinet Sale (Bowers and Merena, 11/1997), lot 239.(Registry values: N991)
