Scarce Cameo 1870 Shield Nickel, PR66
1870 5C PR66 Cameo PCGS. A splendidly preserved cameo that is nicely mirrored in the fields. The reverse displays subtle shadings of lilac and rose, while there is almost no color to be seen on the obverse. Contrast on coins from this era is more a matter of chance than design, as most were created from a fresh set of dies and not intentionally produced for aesthetic appeal.
