1870 Shield Nickel, PR66
Delicately Toned
1870 5C PR66 PCGS. The mintage of proofs for this year is
estimated between 850 and 1100 pieces. Most are similar to this one
with evidence of a heavily lapped reverse that has thinned some of
the letters. Field reflectivity is good, thought, especially for a
nickel product. Each side shows just the slightest traces of
delicate toning. Excellent for a type coin. Population: 7 in 66, 0
