Description

Worthy 1870 Five Cent Piece, PR66

1870 5C PR66 PCGS. The strike is a smidgen weak, resulting in less than full definition in the horizontal lines of the shield. The fields are reflective, but not deeply so, a feature characteristic of many proof nickels issued during the 1870s. Toned a very delicate silver-pink. Neither PCGS nor NGC has graded a finer example (11/07).(Registry values: N1793)
