1872 5C PR65 NGC. Designated by NGC as VP-012, their in-house attribution for the prominently die doubled obverse. The annulet has a broad south-southeast spread and is the pick-up point, but leaf tips and the lowest horizontal shield line are also doubled. A flashy and lightly toned Gem with minor carbon and a small lamination above the C in CENTS.(Registry values: N991)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 276N, PCGS# 3826, GSID# 2910)
