1877 Shield Nickel, PR64 Cameo
Key Proof-Only Date
1877 5C PR64 Cameo NGC. Ex: Teich Family Collection. Deeply
mirrored fields and frosted devices are devoid of toning, giving
this scarce proof nickel a dramatic, silverlike appearance. Just
900 proofs were produced. This example is sharply stuck with full
shield details and complete star centers. One or two tiny carbon
spots exist, but overall the appeal of this coin is suggestive of
