1877 Nickel, PR64
Attractively-Toned Proof-Only Issue
1877 5C PR64 PCGS. Olive, tan, and steel-blue are mixed
together to create a stunning patina that is free of abrasions or
striking weakness. The 1877 is the first of two proof-only shield
nickel issues, with the second being 1878. It is also by far the
scarcer of the two, with a mintage of only 900 coins, compared to
