1878 5C PR66 NGC. A lovely Premium Gem, this is an attractive representative from one of the rarest issues in the Shield nickel series. This piece displays a boldly executed strike and subtle shadings of light gold and blue. The few minor surface marks pose little distraction. NGC has assigned higher numeric grades to only 21 examples (12/12).Ex: Stamford Coinfest Signature (Heritage, 10/2010), lot 3972.
