Description
1878 5C PR66 NGC. A glut of minor coinage stalled production of low-denomination pieces in the late 1870s, and the 1878 nickel, like the 1877 before it, was a proof-only issue. This coin displays strong detail and attractive luster beneath dappled green-gold and silver-gray patina. From The Vanek Collection.(Registry values: N1793)
