Description
1878 5C PR66 PCGS. CAC. Although slightly reflective, this Premium Gem displays the typical satiny look of 1878 proof Shield nickels. The strike is sharp, and each side is largely brilliant. Only proof Shield nickels were issued in 1878. Housed in an old green label holder with CAC endorsement. PCGS lists 20 finer non-Cameos, plus a number of Cameos and Deep Cameos in this and higher grades (9/17).From The Carnton Collection, Part II(Registry values: N1793)
