1878 5C PR66+ PCGS. The second proof-only mintage among the Shield nickels, the 1878 saw an emission of 2,350 coins in minor proof sets that included the three cent nickel and Indian cent. This PR66+ PCGS example is among the finest survivors, pinkish-gray with a sharp strike and impeccable preservation.
