Description
1879 5C PR66 Cameo NGC. Proofs of this year are especially popular because of the low mintage (25,900 pieces) of its business strike counterpart. The surfaces are mostly brilliant with a little russet toning around the perimeter. Highly reflective surfaces show startling cameo contrast against the frosted devices. A few microscopic flecks are noted on the reverse. Only 3,200 proofs were struck. (Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22PG, PCGS# 83833, GSID# 2932)
