Splendid 1879 Shield Nickel, PR67 Cameo
1879 5C PR67 Cameo NGC. Clear doubling shows on the date, as Breen documents in his Proof Encyclopedia. This variety is different from the overdate, which shows a small spike upward from the right side of the ball ornament above the date. Nifty shelf or strike doubling shows on some of the other areas of the obverse. The silver-white surfaces show splendid eye appeal.
