Description
1879/8 5C PR66 PCGS. A bright and untoned specimen on which the overdate is plainly visible. This is only one of two instances with U.S. proofs that such an overdate has been created by rehubbing the date from the previous year to the next. The other example of this oddity is the 1887/6 Three Cent Nickel.
