Description
1879/8 Shield Nickel PR66 PCGS. An unknown number of overdated proof nickels were struck out of the total mintage of 3,200 pieces. The 1879/8 is one of the few proof overdates available from the 19th century. This is a high grade example that is mostly untoned but does have just a bit of light gray patina.
