Elusive 1881 Nickel, PR67 Cameo
1881 5C PR67 Cameo NGC. The 1881 proof nickels, with a mintage of 3,575 pieces, are readily available to collectors today, as evidenced by the several hundred examples certified by NGC and PCGS. Cameos are more elusive, especially at the PR67 level. The essentially untoned surfaces of this Superb Gem Cameo exhibit sharply struck design elements, and are impeccably preserved.
