Only Five Similar Shield Nickels
1881 5C PR67 Deep Cameo PCGS. Both sides of this brilliant
Superb Gem Deep Cameo proof display amazing contrast with lustrous,
sharply defined design motifs. This incredible example, showing
delicate repunching inside the second 8, is the only Deep Cameo
proof 1881 nickel certified by PCGS.Only 22 Shield nickels are designated Deep Cameo proof regardless of grade. This piece is one of only five Shield nickels that are certified PR67 Deep Cameo, with none finer (10/13). The others are 1866, 1876, 1878, and 1882.(Registry values: P1)
