Superb Cameo Proof 1883 Shield Nickel
1883 5C Shield PR67 Cameo PCGS. While not a rare date in an absolute sense, this final-year proof has a low certified population as a Cameo. The otherwise brilliant surfaces yield to delicate mint frost over the devices. Both sides are essentially untoned, and distracting hairlines are non-existent. NGC and PCGS combined report 13 coins in PR67 Cameo, with none finer, and only one, an NGC coin, has been designated as Ultra Cameo in any grade.From The Western Hills Collection.(#83838) (Registry values: N2998)
