Description

1871 Three Cent Nickel, PR66
A Dazzling Proof Type Coin

1871 3CN Three Cent Nickel PR66 PCGS. This is not only a lovely proof striking but it is also an interesting study piece. The obverse shows faint traces of lathe lines, most obvious on the neck of Liberty, and the reverse fields have light die striations. Each side is brilliant, and the overall appearance is impressive. The only flaw we see is on the neck of Liberty, there is a light golden spot there of uncertain origin. Population: 24 in 66, 0 finer (8/10).
