Description

1875 Three Cent, PR66 Cameo
Tied for Finest Certified

1875 3CN PR66 Cameo PCGS. The proof 1875 three cent nickel does not go down in the record books as one of the best-produced in Mint history. This PR66 Cameo specimen is decidedly above-average with its appreciably contrasted and blue-tinged surfaces. The obverse presents well, albeit with softness of strike on Liberty's hair, though the reverse has prominent field polishing lines diagonally and up (as struck) and three circular dots of milky toning just to the left of the ribbon loop inside the wreath. PCGS has certified just four coins as PR66 Cameo and none finer in the contrast category (1/14).(Registry values: P3)
