1875 Three Cent Nickel, PR66 Cameo
Rarely Seen in Cameo Format
1875 3CN PR66 Cameo PCGS. The 1875 three cent nickel is only
infrequently seen with a cameo finish. Indeed,of the 358 proof
three cent pieces graded by PCGS only 26, or seven percent, were
assigned a Cameo designation. Both sides of this Premium Gem
feature a modest white-on-black contrast, more pronounced on the
obverse. The design elements are sharply struck, including the
lines in the III denomination and the leaf ribbing on the wreath. A
few tiny flecks do not disturb the coin's highly attractive
surfaces. Population: 5 in 66 Cameo, 0 finer (3/14).(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22NV, PCGS# 83771, Greysheet# 2821)
