Description

1876 Three Cent Nickel, PR67 Ultra Cameo
Strong White-on-Black Contrast

1876 3CN PR67 Ultra Cameo NGC. Produced in the centennial year of America's Declaration of Independence, many 1876 proof sets were purchased as souvenirs of the landmark year. The resulting high mintage of proof three cent nickels (more than 1,150 pieces) accounts for the relative availability of this issue today. Those worthy of the Ultra Cameo designation, however, are nonetheless rare. This Superb Gem example is tied numerically with two others as the finest certified at NGC (7/14), and displays stark field-motif contrast. A blush of light golden color warms the nearly perfect surfaces, only adding to the immense visual appeal.(Registry values: P2)
