Scarce, Proof-Only 1877 Three Cent Nickel, PR64
1877 3CN PR64 NGC. Perhaps not as widely known to the general collecting fraternity, but the proof-only 1877 three cent nickel is the key to its series, just as the 1877 Indian cent is a key to its type. Indeed, more than 1,600 times as many 1877 cents were produced as of this issue, but of course there are many more collectors of Indian cents.
