1877 3CN PR65 NGC. A proof-only issue of a tiny estimated 510 pieces, the 1877 three cent nickel is the undisputed key to a complete set. This Gem example boasts mellow copper-gold color with considerable undesignated field-device contrast. A trivial dark fleck or two appear under a loupe, and the strike is full throughout.
