Description

1877 Three Cent Nickel, PR65
Proof-Only Series Key
Gold CAC Quality

1877 3CN PR65 PCGS. Gold CAC. The Philadelphia Mint struck 900 proof three cent nickels in 1877, but no business strikes were produced. Accordingly, the 1877 is a sought-after key to the series today. The 1877 is scarce at the PR65 grade level and finer coins are decidedly elusive. This spectacular Gem proof exhibits sharply detailed design elements and impeccably preserved surfaces that include deeply reflective fields. The high quality within the grade is attested by the rare Gold CAC sticker. Housed in a green label holder. PCGS has graded 77 numerically finer examples. Gold CAC: 2 in 65, 0 finer (11/21).(Registry values: N1793)
