1877 Three Cent Nickel, PR65
Key, Proof-Only Date
1877 3CN PR65 PCGS. Only 510 pieces are believed to have
been struck of the 1877 three cent nickel, all proofs. Quality
varies from deeply mirrored to shallowly mirrored, a trait shared
by the following year, also a proof-only run. This is a deeply
reflective example, but the surfaces appear somewhat dim because of
the moderate streaks of golden-rose and lilac toning seen over each
