1878 Three Cent Nickel, PR67 Ultra Cameo
Proof-Only Issue, Tied for Finest Certified

1878 3CN PR67 Ultra Cameo NGC. CAC. From the proof-only mintage of 2,350 pieces for the second-year-key 1878 three cent nickel, this piece certified PR67 Ultra Cameo is tied for the finest graded with one other submission at NGC (12/13). The starkly contrasted surfaces are silver-white with deeply reflective fields and well-frosted devices. Die polishing has effaced a couple of areas such as the bridge of Liberty's nose and parts of the rightmost olive leaf at bottom reverse, but there are simply no post-Mint distractions. Stunning quality.(Registry values: P2)
